It’s been very gratifying to see the response to VOL-INDEF, Book 5 in the Miles to Vietnam series. Many thanks to all my fans and readers for their continued support. I’m now deep into the development of Book 6 in the series, in which we rejoin First Lieutenant Jif Miles as he serves his voluntary tour of duty extension in Vietnam.
This book, like the others before it, will feature nonstop combat action as American and ARVN forces seek to prevent a large-scale assault by communist forces on Saigon. As Jif matures as a soldier and leader of men, he’ll grapple with the changing strategies for the war and the impact of those changes on the Army, the American public, and his own future. A host of characters you’ve come to know from earlier books will appear in the story, as well.
The projected release date for Book 6–as yet untitled–is May 2024.
What is your military background? How much of your Vietnam series is fact based and what is the source for events and characters in th series?
Thank you for you response.
Thanks for writing, Ken. As to my military background, I pointedly do not discuss it. Too often, that information is misused and abused by internet hacks. I prefer the fiction in my books to be the story, not details of my personal life.
The Miles to Vietnam series is fiction set in an actual historical timeline. The events are drawn from my own experiences, the experiences of countless others, and my own imagination. With the exception of well-known public figures, the characters are purely fictional.
